IMPORTANCE OF PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT

Hello, and welcome to my blog. My name is Zachary Babcock. I am an ex-drug addict, ex-alcoholic, and I spent over 5 years of my life in prison. Having completely transformed my life, I am now a husband, father, entrepreneur, and author of Prison To Promised Land.

I am extremely passionate about personal development. So if you are seeking ways to improve yourself and add value to your life then you have come to the right place.

Personal development may include the following activities:

  • improving self-awareness
  • improving self-knowledge
  • improving skills and/or learning new ones
  • building strengths or talents
  • improving wealth
  • identifying or improving potential
  • building employability or human capital
  • enhancing lifestyle and/or the quality of life
  • improving health
  • fulfilling aspirations
  • initiating a life enterprise or personal autonomy
  • defining and executing personal development plans
  • improving social abilities
Personal development can also include developing other people. This may take place through roles such as those of a teacher or mentor, either through a personal competency (such as the skill of certain managers in developing the potential of employees) or through a professional service (such as providing training, assessment, or coaching).

The last time I went to prison, I was incarcerated 20 days before my twin son's were born. That was a defining moment in my life and that is when I decided to dedicate myself to never-ending personal development.

After being released from prison the last time, I was not able to find employment. Every place I turned in an application to denied me because of my extensive felony conviction record. With the accumulation of stress from the uncertainty of my future increasing rapidly, I started my own business.

My business would have been a complete failure had it not been for personal development. I also would not have managed to write and publish my book without personal development, nor would I be able to provide people with value on my WinWithZach YouTube channel.

I look forward to providing you with my best personal development content in my upcoming blogs. It is my number 1 passion to share what I have learned through my personal experiences with other people.
